I retired and moved to the Austin area about a year ago. I have a love/passion for animals particularly cats. while I've always wanted to donate "time" in addition to "dollars", I found I could not volunteer at shelters or other facilities because it just "broke my heart". I read about Shadow cats and decided to take a chance. I've been volunteering there for about 5 months now. All I can say is WOW. This sanctuary is so well taken care of, as are the animals. Daily thorough cleaning, paid staff for health care of the animals and volunteers to provide help in cleaning and lots of loves to keep the cats social and happy. This is a HAPPY place. In my own home my cats "go at it" once in while. I am amazed every week when I go there not only how loving the cats are to people, but to each other. We have handicapped cats that are looked after by other cats. This is the most amazing sanctuary I've ever seen. For donors, watch for notices of open house and come visit, you will be amazed, and you will get fur on you!!!!
