This is by far the most professional, hard-working and kind rescue I've ever worked with. Before PugHearts, my husband and I tried to foster or adopt through three other rescues, all in Southern California. They never worked out due to lack of follow-up and just not finding the right match, among other reasons. We figured it wasn't meant to be, at least not yet.

I never gave up hope, but aspirations of owning a dog were definitely put on hold. Then one day on Twitter, I came across someone who had adopted a beautiful pug from PH. I noticed the organization was based in Houston, where my parents live, so I figured it was worth trying them.

Our adoption process with PH was impeccable. We were approved to adopt in September 2016, and had a thorough phone screening and home visit shortly after (a diligent volunteer came down from OC!)

In January 2017, at our first PH adoption event, my husband and I met our love Devon Charles! It's been a year since the adoption - and our D-Man aka Devie is our world. The amount of work and dedication this volunteer group puts into rescuing the most vulnerable of pugs deserves much applause and a standing ovation! I'm a proud donor of PH and would definitely adopt from them again.
