Review for Habitat For Safe Seniors Inc, Canyon Lake, TX, USA
I became associated with HSS 2 years ago. I find it to be a very constructive and ethical organization. They do what they say they are going to do and they don't do what they say they are not going to do. Plain and simple. I have seen seniors thrive on the physical and emotional support they receive there. I have been impressed by the loyalty and commitment of most staff and volunteers. Obviously, there are some bad apples in any bunch and they usually disappear just like the other produce that is no longer good quality.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have been fortunate to be asked to deliver food to needy families. The response is always overwhelmingly positive. I have alsoparticipated in a residence clean-up and trash haul-off. HSS is very responsible about taking away all debris from the job site
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Give more credit to the directors, staff, and volunteers. Nothing they do is easy and the assistance they give is outstanding. They are professional, courteous, and efficient.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
The feeling in my heart that people really care about the welfare of people they don't even know and are willing to put themselves out in order to help them.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
kind, helpful and well trained.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Build a storage facility and administration building and be able to pay more staff people to ensure greater efficincy and less waste, even though some waste is expected when dealing with perishables.
Ways to make it better...
I had more time and resources to donate to this wonderful organization!
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
The people who find it easier to confuse and criticise than to roll up their sleeves and get to work helping people.
One thing I'd also say is that...
It is not easy to create and run a non profit organization. One of the challenges is facing undeserved criticism and going on with the work anyway. The Executive Director and Board of Directors of HSS are humble and their work is very apppreciated.
How frequently have you been involved with the organization?
