I volunteered this past weekend, April 28, 2018, with the Adams Griffin Owens (AGO) Community Resource Center's 2nd Proposition 47 Expungement clinic. The event was a huge success! Providing legal services related to California's 2014 Proposition 47 and the 2016 Proposition 64 voter initiative, the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office serviced over 80 clients with their legal issues-- some dating back several years.

Expungement clinics such as these offer a second chance to those prohibited from subsidized housing, certain jobs and occupational certifications, to name just a few restrictions. Benefits are immediately seen after their cases are cleared-- with the presence of the City Clerk's Voter registration representatives signing up newly established voters.

Held at Westminster Presbyterian Church and hosted by the Adams Griffin Owens (AGO) Community Resource Center, this second clinic and the partnership with the L. A. Public Defender's Office was definitely a "Win-Win"! Overall, I believe gratitude best describes the clinic's success.
