I volunteered to serve lunch with co-workers at Bean's Café. The kitchen was well organized and the food was better than I had anticipated. We served 378 people and the chef said he was only planning to serve around 240. Well, the cooks were prepared! They quickly shifted gears and made extra food. Everyone that came through the line received a meal and a drink. It was an honor to participate in giving back to the community. We had a great time and the guests that were served were courteous and appreciative. There was a group that sang and spoke with the guests. I was thoroughly impressed with the other volunteers and the staff at Bean's Café. We are planning to volunteer again sometime next quarter!
