Review for All Hands and Hearts, MATTAPOISETT, MA, USA
When I first learned about All Hands and Hearts in 2013, I had no idea what to expect when I first volunteered with them. I flew to the Philippines not knowing anyone or anything about the program, and few away rich with experiences, lifetime friends and a gnarly sunburn. I was hooked.
I recently finished my fourth project with All Hands and I am about to book my next fight to another project because they’re just that good at making you drink the volunteering koolaid.
How often do you find a program that is so insanely good at helping communities recover? While I was recently in Puerto Rico, we completed over 100 home repaires in just 6 weeks since the program started. At zero cost to the homeowner. It’s amazing to see the joy, relief and pure gratitude of the communities members faces.
Who are the volunteers? They’re retirees , college students, mothers, fathers, and even grandparents! Everyone can help with All Hands; and it’s practically free! All I have paid for is a plane ticket, and sometimes they give those to volunteers too.
