Imagine being so poor that your family could not afford to buy you a white teddy bear or new clothes. This was the degree of poverty experienced by a girl whose personal essay I reviewed. Now imagine the joy that this girl experienced when she was able to receive new clothes at Operation School Bell sponsored by Assistance League Omaha.

This experience meant so much to her that, as a high school senior, she volunteered for Operation School Bell this school year. The city of Omaha is very fortunate to have such a wonderful organization as the Assistance League of Omaha which every October provides new clothes for approximately 3300 school children in need.
