Review for Maggie's Wigs 4 Kids of Michigan, Inc, St. Clair Shores, MI, USA
A friend of mine invited me to a Wigs 4 Kids fundraiser, and I was not sure what to expect. I did not think there was such a need for this service, boy was I in for a surprise. The event was done first class, and the volunteers and staff were very organized. The staff members were caring and compassionate, the founder showed so much love for these little angels. I was moved beyond belief when I heard a recipient of the program candidly speak about how Wigs 4 Kids changed her life. This is a wonderful thing- focusing on making kids feel like their peers so they can worry about one less thing, when they are going through treatment. I commend this selfless organization for the desire to help children feel good about themselves. After all, what else is there? The self esteem of a child is so important and knowing someone cares about this; makes me think this world isn't so bad afterall.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
The speeches from the children, they spoke about how thankful they were for Maggie. How they could participate in life again without feeling ashamed of their hair loss.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Give them the funding they need to help sustain the program. Get the word out to more people, this is a wonderful thing what these people are doing.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
Seeing kids be kids again, the smiles on their faces
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
So kind and compassionate. You could tell they truly enjoyed what they do.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Reach so many more angels afflicted with this terrible Cancer, turn so many more frowns into smiles. Turn embaressment into self confidance amd tears into cheers!
Ways to make it better...
We all lived in a world where children and adults did not get this terrible disease.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
Funding to ssustain the program. There is no governmental support. Most of their support comes from individuals in the community and businesses. They need exposure!!
One thing I'd also say is that...
I read in the newspaper they recently opened a new wellness center, and I cried. I know they worked so hard for many years so kids would have a place to feel special. They have expanded the services they offer to include emotional counseling, arts
