Every so often you find that rare volunteer opportunity that enhances your own life immeasurably, while having life-changing potential for those served by its mission. That is the Labs For Liberty (L4L) experience. We are now fostering our fourth L4L dog and cannot recommend this nonprofit highly enough. The time spent with each puppy is, of course, fun but also fulfilling, as these young dogs are socialized and nurtured for proficiency in customized skill sets and task-training. This all leads up to the gratification of when the dog is successfully paired with his/her veteran. It’s a feeling like no other, being part of the Labs For Liberty mission—that of making a positive difference in the lives of those who have served our country.
