Giving children new clothes, coats, and shoes is most wonderful. The practical application of good coat and shoes is valuable, but everyone loves new clothes, and the great feeling you get when you know you look good. Assistance League always goes the extra mile, so the past 6 months, a committee organized mask making for the children. Members bought fabric, cut, and sewed to give cute and serviceable masks to our lucky recipients.

I am a personal shopper for School Bell. As a teacher, I took a Continuing Education Class on working with students who live in poverty. The instructor gave us this criteria: After dinner, students from the upper class are asked "How was the presentation?" Students from middle class are asked "Did you like it?" Students who live in poverty are asked "Did you get enough?" When children come to me in School Bell, they barely have enough. When they leave, after they have selected new shoes, clothes, and a coat, they are proud of their presentation. This program elevates children in every way.
