Review for Lazarex Cancer Foundation, Danville, CA, USA
Our daughter Brittany has been fighting a very rare cancer, Alveolar Soft Part Sarcoma for 11 years. Brittany has undergone 23 surgeries over the years as the cancer has spread to various parts of her body. Three years ago the cancer had spread to her pancreas and other abdominal organs, all inoperable in her condition. We found a Phase I clinical trial at the Cross Cancer Institute in Edmonton. Alberta for Cediranib, a new drug designed for brain cancer, but one that had shown promise for a young man living in London with Brittany's disease. My wife through her research found out about the Lazarax Cancer Foundation and applied for financial assistance to help with Brittany's monthly trips to Edmonton. She was accepted! We are proud and happy to report that all of her metastatic tumors have shrunk to a point they are no longer visible in her scans and she has developed no new tumors in her body! She is now the longest surviving patient in the world with her cancer on this experimental drug! THANK YOR LAZAREX! Having cancer and all of the related pain issues is enough heartache for a patient to face each day. Financial difficulties are often the added stress factor to make one give up hope. We thank you from the bottom of hearts. Jim and Bonni Hess
