Access Partnership - First let me tell you a story.
Hello, My name is Bob. I'm an old guy who had been successful in both my marriage and employment. Raised four wonderful children and retired when I got to be 65. Things were fine until 2010 which was when I came down with a mercer infection in my leg which left me seriously ill and hospitalized for three months. It was a tough and costly time but I did get over it. The following year my wife was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer which caused her death, thus I lose my sweetheart of over 50 years. All in all even with the help of our health insurance I was now going to be living a life style on the meager income I had coming in from my social security. I had gotten by and been living a nice life however, some things were no longer attended to like my teeth, they were in pretty bad condition and I was not financially able to do anything about it. I had heard about Access Partnership, a volunteer group of local ladies working with people like myself in need of dental work but not able to afford it. It was just over a year ago that I was notified by one of the volunteers that that there was going to be a Mission of Mercy dental work day at the school on rt 17 Yorktown that weekend and that I should attend. When I got there I was amazed to find hundreds of people seeking dental work and a dozen or more dentists all volunteers doing a great job of fillings and extractions. I spoke to one of the volunteer girls about the extensive work I needed and was told that would be more then what they were attempting to work on that day. I stayed for a while in awe of what was going on, hundreds of people getting needed dental work done who could not otherwise afford it. What a wonderful program. The girls had not forgotten me as I got a call weeks later from Laura with their Donated Dental Service Program to let me know I was accepted to have dental work done by one of their volunteer dentists. I'm sure all the dentists in this program are terrific people and the one they picked for me was just great. During my time in his dental chair I could not have been treated any better then if I was paying for the service. I am now wearing my dentures and smiling a lot more showing my nice new teeth.
Thank You Very Much Access Partnership
Sincerely
Bob
