Review for Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue Society Ltd, Mount Airy, MD, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Gentle Giant Draft Horse Rescue came to my notice due to my love of all equines from having them on the farm. they help save those working animals that due to no fault of their own, are abandoned, abused and dumped into a terrible nightmare of hunger, thirst, and pain at man kinds hands. Many will suffer too often several auction sales and truck rides, and end up in the final cramped truck ride to the slaughter stop. This group helps the animals get noticed and helps people and other rescue groups buy, transport and provide good vet care for those take in, even if it is the last act of kindness to help them over the rainbow bridge. That is a very tough decision to make, but at least the animal is finally pain free. Something the original owner or shipper should be mandated to have to provide vet care for. Until laws are changed across this country, equines everywhere will continue to be used, abused and dumped, BUT THIS GROUP DOES WONDERFUL WORK FOR THESE ANIMALS!? They needs to be more like them.

Review for Service Dog Project Inc., Ipswich, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I love this site as they not only provide service dogs to help people, they have a donkey rescue too. They help both people and donkeys! What a wonderful group of people they are.

The Service Dog Project trains and donates service dogs to individuals with balance and mobility limitations (possibly due to Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, CP, etc.). By providing the dogs at no cost to approved applicants, The Service Dog Project extends a valuable service to suitable individuals. Preference is given to veterans and their families.

All of the Great Danes are born, raised and trained on the farm and for the first month are watched 24/7 by staff and/or volunteers. Once the dogs are fully trained (usually a year or older) they are matched with a recipient and are then trained to meet the individual’s exact needs.

Again this is a great organization that deserves high praise.
