Review for Washburn Center for Children, Minneapolis, MN, USA
A family member of mine spent 32 years working as a special ed. instructor who then gravitated toward the specific needs and study of children with Asperger. She mentioned how she had recommended Washburn to a number of parents and children during the span of her career and couldn't say enough positive things about the people who work there. Since there has always been a shortage of special ed teachers in general, she relied heavily on the support of Washburn and is truly grateful they exist as an option for help.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I made a visit twice to the Mpls. facility and witnessed a very positive feeling toward the staff. They appear to have a very professional attitude towards anyone who walks through the door.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Build a brighter, and larger facility. The staff has great ability in terms of their professional experience in terms of therapy, however a space that is more conducive to healing would carry their efforts a lot further.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
how professional the staff is and am thankful for their cause. Healthy behavior helps everyone and anyone far and wide.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
very knowledgeable, professional, and real.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
build a facility with many windows, a colorful interior, any architectural element structured for learning and nurturing. I would assume they would be able to hire more staff to fit the needs of so many families in need of their services.
Ways to make it better...
My experience was great.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
lack of community support in terms of dollars.
One thing I'd also say is that...
thank goodness a facility like this exists. As I mentioned earlier, healthy, sound minds are better for people in the surrounding community, state-wide, world-wide. Thanks for all you do and continue to do.
