Review for Give a Dog a Home Rescue, Sebec, ME, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I have adopted two precious dogs from Give a Dog a Home..Abby is my 12 year old girl who Jenny took in, even though she knew she had cancer and would be costly..Jenny headed up a fundraiser for our Abb y and we raised nearly enough money for her cancer surgery...today she is cancer free...then there is Bella..she is just a healthy little bundle of joy. We couldn't be happier with our babies.
After becoming an adopter, I began volunteering at the rescue. While volunteering and getting to know Jenny, I learned of the few individuals who have tried to shut her down in the past, spreading LIES and causing all kinds of chaos for Jenny and her rescue...most recently causing trouble while I was one of the 6 volunteers who looked after the rescue while Jenny was away (NOT on vacation) last year. I was completely baffled and dumbfounded what the SAME woman and her minions were saying...I was there every day and night (other with other volunteers) to make sure the dogs' kennels were clean, they were fed and had clean water..we played with them daily, exercised them, gave them toys to play with and treats...to hear the stories that these dogs were being neglected while she was away are preposterous, evil and outright lies!! And to trespass on her posted property to satisfy their obsessive agenda is insane. The pictures they provided were skewed and lies..one being a 'poop' bucket they reported as an empty water or food bucket really made me laugh! All of it couldn't be any further from the truth.
These dogs are being saved from HIGH KILL shelters...the poor souls that are lucky enough to land at Give a Dog a Home are guaranteed the utmost care...medically, physically and emotionally.
I can also attest Jenny goes without every day (though she'd never admit it) so that these dogs have the best and that they are cared for. She's messaged me at midnight before, in the middle of trying to save a dog in Texas and scrambling to find rides and volunteers to help this dog until she can get it to Maine!
This is a labor of love....She's certainly not getting rich from this career she has chosen. It's truly about saving innocent lives who deserve a chance to be loved and to have a home of their own. She gives them that chance, and they are precious souls, as is she.
I consider myself blessed to have two beautiful girls from this rescue, and that I have gained a great human friend as well..highly recommend this rescue.
