My sponsorship with Children Inernational has been a truly amazing experience. I'm crying as I write this because I've been a sponsor for almost 3 years and have to cancel as I am in graduate school now and can no longer afford to sponsor. As soon as I graduate my program, I will immediately volunteer to sponsor again. My partner and I were approached by someone from CI on our first day visiting Denver, CO from another state. I listened to his pitch, and gave him a bit of a hard time as I'm a school teacher and initially felt that I was already doing enough for children. He was very professional and understanding, and eventually won me over. We signed up right then and there. CI makes it so easy and fun to stay connected with your child. I look forward to the photos and updates about her life, but most especially to the letters. We loved learning from our child about her life, her family, and her community. My partner and I would read her letters together, then sit down and talk about what we wanted to write back to her. I would highly recommend sponsorship to anyone who is considering it. It makes such a difference, in your life and theirs.
