On Sept. 21st I volunteered for the third straight year at the C.A.S.T. for Kids event on Lake Tyler, Texas. Again, it was so heartwarming to see the faces of the special needs kids as they received their caps, tee shirts, poles, and tackle boxes followed by pictures taken with their boaters! Big smiles on all as they left with their boaters. For some ,the boat ride was as exciting as catching a fish-----and the stories grew from a 6 inch fish to 36 inches!! The awards ceremony was very special as each child and boater received a 5 by 7 picture! Lunch was cooked by the Texas Farm Bureau, Andy's supplied the custard cups, and Super 1 donated a cake decorated in a fishing theme that served 96! It was an amazing day for all. Will I volunteer again next year? You bet!! Kim Meyer

I have volunteered at the Tyler, Texas C.A.S.T. event for the past two years! At both events I was struck with the JOY each child showed as each received his/her pole, tackle box, cap, and shirt , as each was introduced to his/her boater, having Chick Fil lunch , and receiving a picture award at the Awards Ceremony! Each child felt SO special! I felt privileged to be a part of this very worthwhile event to help those with special needs!
