Review for Voyagers' Community School, Eatontown, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Voyagers' has been a life changer for my son. He arrived at age 9 after attending 3 different types of school in Florida, including a homeschooling type group. We visited 3 schools in NJ and when he walked out of Voyagers', he said "I found my people, I love it here". Music to a moms ears. The years following have been full of adventure, discovery, highs and lows. Although not a traditional education that you are used to (you will have to be open minded and think out of the box too), my child has learned in a way that has made him a better thinker, a better human, an independent learner, excited about education, a seeker of knowledge and a free spirit. He has been required to have his own opinions and to critique his own work and he has stepped up to the plate to do so. Through Project Weeks, he has been given the opportunity to soar in his exploration of Science, Chemistry, Physics and Engineering. There is almost always a "Yes" to his ideas, no matter how crazy or impossible they seem. What we have gained out of attending Voyagers' is priceless. We have seen our son accomplish great things, even after being told he had limitations and needed a helper to succeed. In addition to winning first place in the Beautiful Minds challenge his freshman year, he has received a full 4 year scholarship to the hosting college. We would have never accomplished this without the encouragement and support of the teachers in the H.S.
