Review for The Mentoring Network Inc., Nampa, ID, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Seven years ago, I met Donna Shines and heard about her Mentoring Network through my Kiwanis Club. I was quite impressed and became a mentor to a young lady in the school where I worked. When she moved up to the high school, she decided she didn't want a mentor so I was assigned another young lady. We have been together for 5 years now and really enjoy our time.

We get together each week for a "lunch date" where we talk and play cards and simply hang out together. I have been to some of her class presentations now that she's in high school and I send her post cards from the places I visit during summer vacation. I'm hoping that I am helping to make her life a bit more fun. At least she knows I'm here if she needs me.

I cannot recommend the Mentoring Network highly enough! What Donna and her crew have accomplished is amazing. I am trying to talk my friends and family (especially those who are retired) into giving an hour a week to such a worthy cause!

I have worked with The Mentoring Network for over 5 years. I have enjoyed every minute of being a mentor. Each student has a need for a little special something in their life and I am more than happy to give that to them. It's only an hour a week, but it means so much more to the both of us. My current mentee and I have lunch each week and pay card games and talk and talk ... and then laugh and laugh. I enjoy our time together and I know she does too.

I can't say enough good things about Donna Shines. She is a fabulous lady, one I have worked with through both The Mentoring Network and the Treasure Valley Kiwanis Club. Her organization is one to whom we donate funds from our annual golf scramble and each year, we are pleased that we are able to help out such a fine organization.

I am very pleased that I joined The Mentoring Network and that I have the hour each week to help out a very special young lady. It does both of us a lot of good!
