I was introduced to Meals On Wheels years ago when I learned that my grandfather delivered meals. It was his way of giving back. When my grandfather passed away my parents and brother and sister decided to get involved with Meals On Wheels of Tarrant County to honor my grandfather. The day I delivered my first meal was eye-opening. The clients are so nice and grateful to see someone every day. A little bit of kindness at the right moment can make someone’s day better. I learned so much from my experience. I feel it is my way to pay it forward in my community by delivering meals, planning and/or attending events and being an active board member. Meals On Wheels delivers meals and so much more to home-bound citizens in our community that have little or no help with meal preparation. At this time- my whole family (parents, siblings, spouses and friends) are all involved with Meals On Wheels in delivering meals, money donations, sponsoring, attending and supporting events.
