Review for Side by Side Brain Injury Clubhouse, Stone Mtn, GA, USA
Over the past 2 years I have interned and volunteered at Side by Side Brain Injury Clubhouse. The members and staff at Side by Side have truly perfected the clubhouse model. When you go to the clubhouse as a member, staff, intern, volunteer or just a visitor, you are treated as family. Productive activity gives the members a sense of accomplishment, ownership and confidence. As a professional (who was trained under the best at the clubhouse) I understand more about the human spirit and science of the brain/body. The members at the clubhouse taught me just as much (or more) than I taught them. Atlanta is so lucky to have a place like the clubhouse to assist, advocate for and empower the brain injury community.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have had the opprotunity to watch new members open up and push themselves to try new things. I've experienced the members even encouraging me with graduation and birthday cards.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
the people!
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
people who I still keep in touch with and plan to continue to do so.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
WOW! They could serve those with brain injuries that don't have the money, health coverage or support to go to the clubhouse. They would be able to add additional units that would increase the opprotunities for productive work and/or transitional work.
