Review for New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking, Inc., Short Hills , NJ, USA
Rarely is an organization so effective. The New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking (NJCAHT) not only works to support anti-human trafficking legislation, its members actually write the legislation. Not only does it talk about survivors, it is survivor inclusive and survivor driven in everything it does. Its membership includes the most diverse group of people and organizations in all fields such as healthcare, in all its iterations; law enforcement, at all levels; the legal profession; survivors; organizations that work with survivors, women, children and the general public; and more. It presents programs that educate the public and the professions about human trafficking. The organization created a curriculum for teachers that complies with the state mandate to teach about human trafficking, that has been well-received by teachers throughout the state. The NJCAHT doesn't just talk about the issues, it ACTS. I am proud to be an active member of this organization.
Review for New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking, Inc., Short Hills , NJ, USA
An all-volunteer organization, the New Jersey Coalition Against Human Trafficking (the coalition) has accomplished great things in the five years plus of its existence. The coalition was instrumental in passing New Jersey's anti-human trafficking legislation, among the toughest in the United States. Coalition membership consists of over 140 diverse organizations. The coalition is constantly working to support the fight against human trafficking by working with survivor organizations; bringing awareness of the issue through municipal, county and state proclamations; continuing SOAP project outreach all around the state; advocating for human trafficking-related legislation at both the state and federal level; and promoting programs that educate the population on this important issue. I am proud to say that I represent an organization that was a founding member, Morris County NOW, and also represent Northern NJ NOW and NOW-NJ.
