Yavapai Humane Society is a fantastic non-profit committed to finding homes for dogs, cats, and horses in our community. They always do a fantastic job with their community events, and I like that they work with local animal control so pets can have a safe place to go if they escape your backyard. I personally found my best friend at YHS, and would encourage anyone to rescue a pet versus buying from a breeder.
