I started volunteering at New Directions Career Center in 2008. I immediately felt comfortable with the professional staff and the clients they serve. I help out with conducting mock interviews, and teaching classes on effective interviewing, resume writing and cover letters. The clients are always eager to learn and open to advice for their job searches and career advancement. I usually meet the clients after they have ompleted the program and find they are extremely well prepared to begin the next phase of their professional lives. It is exciting to see their enthusiasm and self confidence. As a former recruiter in the local Columbus market, I find that everyone is very professional and prepared for interviewing and securing a new opportunity. I look forward to my continued work with New Directions in the future.
