I have known CORD as a volunteer that raises funds for the most needy that live in the most rural areas. This is the organization that has very little overhead costs and more than 95% of funds collected are used for the benefit of the needy. More importantly this organization follows the philosophy of "if you teach a person to fish, that person will be self-sufficient". Their approach is very unique and it truly goes a long way to change the face of poverty with a very holistic approach of education, skills training to make a real difference to people.
