Review for Childrens Hospital Of Wisconsin Inc, Milwaukee, WI, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My daughter was born with a major heart defect and was taken to Childrens Hospital within the first day of life. Since then she has had open heart surg., had 4 implanted pacemakers and had a stroke just days prior to her 21st birthday. All her hospital experiences were at Childrens Hosp. As a parent when your child tells you to sleep at home because she is safe and comfortable enough to sleep at the hospital without me, that means the world to someone who has slept in the room or gone without sleep until your child wakes up! Thank you Childrens Hospital for all you do. We will be coming back for a heart transplant, we wouldn't have it done anywhere else.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

My daughter has personally experienced many, many visits to the hospital.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

At the old Childrens Hosp. I stayed over night in the Al McQuire room. It was not comfortable but my daughters life was in question. Since then I have volunteered/been involved with Al's Run for 23 years. My entire family volunteers at a water station

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

Dr. Thomas who cares so much about his patients.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

the best, we started 25 years ago and some are still there to greet us.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

help so many children and be able to cure some of the children who are fighting rare problems.

Ways to make it better...

I had a discussion with a neurologist that needed to be taken to the head of the department to resolve.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

unfortunately so many kids are in need of help from Childrens Hosp. and the cost of some of their stays can be high.

One thing I'd also say is that...

Our transition to a new doctor is going to be a smooth one, we have met him and this will prepare us for the transplant team in the future.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every six months

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?
