Review for Mustangs to the Rescue, Bend, OR, USA
MTTR is an EXTREMELY IMPORTANT place in our community for horses to heal and have a chance to thrive. From the moment I met Kate and Josh and began to volunteer, they gave me the warmest welcome. They spent a lot of time with me, walking around and telling stories about each horse and how MTTR operates. Every encounter with them is super positive, appreciative and they make me feel like my time out there really makes a positive impact.
It is amazing to hear about some of the situations these horses have been in and watch them come back to life. Kate does everything in her power to make sure these horses are taken care of, with the right therapies, diets, medicines, exercise, farriers and LOVE. She is a selfless woman who puts the well-being of these animals first. Her organization does such a great job that the Sheriff's Office repeatedly comes to and relies on MTTR to rescue horses in bad situations. All of the horses at MTTR are sweet and fun to interact with.
The thing that I appreciate the most about Kate is how much she cares about placing horses with the right home. She spends HOURS AND HOURS with the potential adopters, making sure they are committed, have purpose and a strong dynamic with the horse and have a vet reference. She even goes out and personally inspects where the horse will live before they are adopted. Kate takes as much time as required to ensure a horse will be placed in the right home situation.
MTTR offers many enriching activities to us volunteers that further our education about horse care. It is amazing to be a part of this group that brings me joy every time I visit and work!
