My brother had MSA. He suffered greatly and no one knew what his disease was, most doctors that we talked to didn't know anything about it. My brother lost his insurance for two years, and we were unable to find him any resources or equipment for his condition.

Defeat MSA is a great nonprofit because it helps patients, it operates one of the few support groups targeted just to MSA in the nation. They also started the MSA equipment loaner closet which loans out durable medical equipment for needy MSA patients. Lastly, defeat MSA has pushed to bring greater awareness about the disease to the general public through the MSA shoe and they led a Kickstarter campaign to support finishing a movie about an athlete with MSA.
