The Daniel Trust Foundation is an amazing grassroots organization in Bridgeport CT that mentors high school students into becoming leaders, who in turn mentor and support others. The organization was founded by Daniel Trust, a Rwandan genocide survivor who turned personal tragedy into a powerful force for positive change. The Foundation is run by alumni of the program, with an advisory board. No other youth- focused organization I know is actually run by young people from the community it supports.
As a donor and volunteer, I know exactly where my gifts go and I meet the beneficiaries. The Daniel Trust Foundation supports students in so many ways- from tutoring and how to apply for college, to financial literacy mentoring and teaching people to drive!
After hearing Daniel Trust speak, I introduced myself and said:” what can I do to help.” You will too.
