My first awareness of SSEP was when I attended an excellent diabetes & pregnancy research conference they held in November, 2004. I was impressed with the quality of the speakers and the passion Joann Henry had for helping pregnant women with diabetes deliver healthy babies and live healthy lives. For more than 10 years now, Joann has donated her time to increasing awareness of the problems associated with diabetes & pregnancy on a national level. Not only does SSEP hold the annual research conference in November, they hold trainings in different parts of the country to educate health care professionals who work with pregnant women with diabetes. This is one of the most altruistic organizations with whom I have had the pleasure of being associated.

Attendance and participation in their research conferences and out-of-California trainings for diabetes educators who work with pregnant women with diabetes. Thier evidence-based trainings make a difference nationwide for pregnant women with diabetes.
