My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Gospel for Asia, Inc., Wills Point, TX, USA
A typical day at work begins with single origin coffee in the break room, laughter with friends and an upbeat start to the work day. Then it's off to work for this amazing non-profit, and it's not hard to say that working at Gospel for Asia has been one of the best decisions of my life.
I started out on the web team doing writing & social media, and over the years have learned web graphic design, web development (with HTML, CSS, Python and Django), advertising on Facebook and Google Adwords, and video shooting & post-production. I've had the opportunity to manage teams and develop social media strategies.
The people I've worked with are not perfect, and they've made their fair share of mistakes, just like me (and you). But they work with humility, openness, striving for good communication, grace and synergy to get the job done.
And it's not just about the job—what I do here is a joy and it's part of a bigger purpose to make a difference in the lives of real, unique people who are precious to their Maker.
I've grown spiritually by working at this ministry and being involved in the regular prayer meetings. Prayer really is the backbone of this ministry. I've seen the management here openly acknowledge their dependence on God and that the reason for all that they do is to serve Him.
I've seen the leadership and the staff family walk through some difficult accusations and not-so-pretty seasons, but I've seen time and time again the attitude of repentance, humility, learning from mistakes, and rectifying wrongs. I believe that we're better as a ministry and organization because of it, and I've definitely become a stronger and more grateful person.
The GFA campus is a great place for families and provides opportunities for community activities, beyond just a normal 9-5 work day.
