Review for Helping Up Mission, Baltimore, MD, USA
The Helping Up Mission (HUM) has helped many, many men in the Baltimore area for many years. It provides them spiritual and emotional guidance and support, food and shelter, medical care, job and life training and hope. I know because HUM saved my son from his addiction and gave him back his family and his life.
Now, HUM is taking up the needs of women by building a new shelter in Baltimore. The needs of women are often more complex because there may be children involved. The new shelter is taking care of both needs.
I believe the Helping Up Mission is deserving of the title Great Nonprofit.
Thank you, Diana C.
Review for Helping Up Mission, Baltimore, MD, USA
The Helping Up Mission (HUM) has helped many men in the Baltimore area overcome their addiction to drugs and alcohol with a successfully proven pathway to thrive with hope for a brighter future. The year long Spiritual Recovery Program treats the whole person through assessing medical, educational, mental health and spiritual needs. The men gain a sense of community and brotherhood that many of them lacked in their lives. I know the Program works because it saved my son from addiction. He has been free now from addiction for five years. Thank you HUM for what you do for the men, their families and friends and the community at large! God bless the HUM staff and the volunteers and donors that make it work.
Review for Helping Up Mission, Baltimore, MD, USA
The Helping Up Mission (HUM) has helped so many men free themselves from the bonds of addiction and turn their lives around. Through its Spiritual Recovery Program, HUM provides the men with important basic care (food, shelter, clothing, medical and dental care and job skills training). More importantly, it provides spiritual care (belief in God, self worth, being responsible for yourself and your actions, importance of family and being true to oneself). I know this because the HUM staff, volunteers, and donors, worked together with my son to turn his life around three years ago. God bless them. My family and I will be forever grateful. Please support the mission, it is turning lives around one man at a time one day at a time.
