Review for Woodlands Wildlife Refuge Inc, Clinton, NJ, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Woodlands has far exceeded any and all expectations regarding wildlife care. They deserve way more than the 5 stars available here. The very small group of ladies who comprise the staff put in an immense amount of time and effort in what they do, and are fiercely dedicated to keep things running smoothly. The staff, volunteers, and interns work late into the night EVERY DAY to ensure that all animals taken in are fed and cared for, often before themselves. There is no "weekend" when it comes to an injured bear, an orphaned baby squirrel, or a starving raccoon. The behind-the-scenes necessities are more than anyone can imagine: food preparation, laundering blankets and towels, keeping the workrooms and care areas safe and sanitary, among many other time consuming and meticulous things. Once an animal is healthy enough to be released back into the wild, every single person who contributes there can be proud to know they've made a difference. Woodlands also provides various educational programs and plans exciting fundraising events - and this is on top of all of the daily needs at the refuge. If you ever need wildlife assistance, this is the FIRST place you should go.
