Review for Episcopal Communities Foundation, Inc. dba Episcopal Place, Birmingham, AL, USA
Episcopal Place is a safe haven for seniors on a fixed income. I have been associated with three residents over 20 years. If it were not for the affordable safe living that EP provides these seniors would be living on the street. The social stimulation and programs available enhance the lives of the citizens living there. Residents have transportation to medical appointments 3 days per week and the grocery store twice a week. In addition to this they have a food bank on the premises. Spiritual support is provided by an on site chaplain and include weekly worship services. A social worker is employed, full time, to assist the residents with any social service issues that invariably present themselves. Not only is EP safe but is also attractive. The public areas are attractive and clean. One resident I am acquainted with has mobility issues. A housekeeper is available to help this person clean the apartment. Every time I have been to EP I see residents visiting with each other in the common areas. Monthly birthday parties are held to celebrate those residents having a birthday. This allows special recognition for each resident. Our community is fortunate to have this safe haven in our neighborhood.
