Episcopal Place has been in Birmingham, at the location now for as long as I have had a memory (you could say). When I was very young and spent many a weekend with my Grandparents, after church we went and visit their other deaf friends. I'll never forget us visiting there.
When I was older and could drive since my neighborhood was Highland Ave it became a landmark in my mind.
Fast forward and now my mother is part of the Episcopal Place organization, along with the other great staff members, the long running Gumbo Gala. I was honored to help last year, also my first time at the gala. I was overwhelmed by the support our community gives to EP.
No longer just a landmark I feel closer and see all the joy and care that is given to the residents!
It's really a great PLACE!
