Review for TOWN CATS INC, Berlin, MD, USA
To start off, I had a Feral cat problem in my neighborhood. I had gone to the owners of the mobile park and gave them information about the TNR program that I had printed off a website. They had no interest, I even offered to pay for the spay and neutering. Still no interest. So I called several organizations (more then 10), I either got no response, was told they didn't have the volunteers to help or their shelters were full (which is understandable). I finally got a call back from Chris Aumont of Town Cats of OC. I told her my situation and even though they were short of help she came to my house after dark with cages to trap the cats. She spent time with me , showed me how to use , where and how to set the traps, and told me the sequence of the TNR. If not for Chris calling me back the cats would probably still be in that neighborhood having litter after litter. I was in awe of the structure and coordination of this establishment! Rounding up the feral cats and ensuring a safe delivery to the vets for spay and neutering is not an easy process. But they made it look easy! I was never a part of something like this. The staff are so appreciative of our help. The dedication and compassion of Town Cats is not only amazing but heartfelt. I have considered quitting volunteering because it's heart breaking to me to see such neglect and abuse but then I realize we all feel this way and that's why we stay and trudge through this. They need us!! Town cats has made my retiring very rewarding! I am so thankful Town Cats reached out to me and helped me with my Feral problem. I've recently moved from that neighborhood but on my last visit a friend told me he hasn't seen one Feral cat. What a success!! Trapping is just one task they do, their mission is to help any free roaming, abandoned cat. They have adoption services, fostering, and many fund raisers to help and educate people about our Feral population. I've had so many people thank me for volunteering. Being an official volunteer now I'm proud to tell people I'm a part of Town Cats of OC! The cats need our help and Town Cats is there!! Thank you Town Cats!!
