Review for Pit Sisters Inc., Jacksonville, FL, USA
Pit Sisters is NOT "All about the dogs". Nor are they about honesty. When we adopted our dog from Pit Sisters, we made an arrangement (date/time) for the dog to be brought to our home, just as their website STILL says, and I quote "...Once we have an approved application, we would bring the selected dog to you for a home visit. At that time we would also introduce our dog to any pets that you currently have to make sure that they would get along. If everyone was satisfied that it is a good fit, we would sign an adoption agreement at that time and collect the adoption fee". The day of the supposed home visit, we were told "oh we don't do it that way anymore, you need to come to us"...fine, my husband and I were lucky enough to rearrange our work schedules to accommodate. The meeting itself, lasted maybe 10 minutes, we weren't allowed to go inside of the building, there was no paperwork and this "11 week old" puppy was actually now 15 weeks. A full MONTH older. When I questioned this I was told, oh, well she was 11 weeks when we got her. My advice, update your website WEEKLY to avoid this. Her brother is still listed on the website as 11 weeks old...they are now 20 weeks - 5 months old. Thankfully we fell in love with our new fur baby right away and she and our other fur baby get along great and love to play with each other. I'm upset for so many reasons. The lack of organization. The lack of paperwork telling us everything we needed to know about her; that's right, we got nothing; in fact when I requested the paperwork again I was told to get it from their vet, serioulsy. The first time we found out about her "real" age was when we called their Vet to have her next set of shots done, which were past due by 3+ weeks. Not sure why, if they are "all about the dogs", did they not take the time to ensure she was on schedule for all of her shots. We still have not received a courtesy follow up call to see how she is doing. Nothing. What if we sold her, what if she ran away, what if...thankfully my husband and I spoil our pups and have showered her with love. She is in puppy school to learn socialization skills and training. We want her to continue to be the wonderful pup that she is. We truly want what is best for her but Pit Sisters never took the chance to get to know us to find out what type of people we were. It was here ya go, give me your money and see ya later. Way to go Doc Tony. Your organization is just as good as your commercials. Horrible.
