Review for The Project RAKE Foundation, Inc., New London Township, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

Project RAKE is a foundation that helps those who cannot help themselves. I have participated in project RAKE for several years working on projects ranging from new roofs to wheel chair ramps to electrical and plumbing. One particular project that stood out in my mind was building a wheel chair ramp for an elderly man who could not leave his house. The work and learning how to build a ramp was an amazing time, but watching him leave his house and the look on his face when he came out was such an amazing moment. Project Rake has helped so many people with no where to turn and teaches teenagers how to serve the community in a real way.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The community. Those who were shut in's are now able to enjoy getting out into the community and those who were living without the basic necessities now have water and heat.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

seeing the change in the clients lives when they recieved the help they needed.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

wonderful and very helpful to the students.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Branch out and have the funds to help the many people on the waiting list. They could also go from 3 to 4 projects a year ranging from a weekend to 2 weeks to possibly a full time organization. If they had 10 million dollars they could help not only more members of the community but also help get more teenagers involved helping them build frienships, gain real skills and gain self esteem.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2008

Role:  Volunteer & Over the 20 projects that I participated in I build wheel chair ramps, new roofing, electrical and many other projects for those how did not have the resources to get the help they needed.
