Review for The Lands At Hillside Farms, Shavertown, PA, USA
This is a wonderful group of people absolutely dedicated to preserving a Luzerne County Farm and using it as a "classroom without walls." I saw their representatives on a recent PBS TV program and have met several in person. I've also visited the Farm several times and my wife and I are donors. The volunteers love the heavy-lifting of cleaning stalls, milking cows, planting vegetables and general cleanup; the very small staff practically lives there, and each day, especially weekends, small children and families freely roam the property.
