Students Rising Above is a fabulous San Francisco-based nonprofit organization. My company has engaged with its internship program, and have been impressed at every turn. From communication to its students, to the support they provide around résumé and cover letter-writing and interview skills, to the incredible annual career fair where students showcase their talent and practice to participate in future career fairs, every aspect of the program is exemplary. In my mind, SRA is truly the model for support of first-generation college students. More than just a cause worth supporting with donations and volunteer time (and it certainly is that!) — this organization provides real benefits to the community, including connecting brilliant talent to employers like mine. Thank you, SRA, for doing so well by your students and for working to improve the lives of those in the SF Bay Area!
