Review for BRAN-DEN JUNIOR SCHOOL, Nairobi, , Kenya

Rating: 5 stars

I am an education official with the Ministry of education in kenya. I learnt about BRAN-DEN junior school while I was conducting the inspection of the school. I then approached the school direcor about a bright child of a displaced family during the post-election violence in kenya whose parents had been displaced with all the siblings and they we strugling to put food on the table therefore the children could not go to school. The school dierctor immediately took two children on board and provided uniforms, boarding requirements and is accomodating and providing education to them at no cost to the parents through the school. This really moved me and I saw the hand of a real mother and educator in the director and the work of God through the school.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

I have seen their performance where they are the top 5 in the Distirct examinations. The children in the school are of very high moral standards, aboveaverage and are all academically. The able and less able are alltreated equally at school.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

Encourage donors to sponsor the worthy cause of this school in their different needs so as to reduce the poverty levels and crime rates in many areas of kenya and provide the vital need of education to the needy child.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

The dedication of the staff especially the school director in helping the less fortunate in the society get a home, food and education with equal facilities like the able

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

very oragnised, friendly, motherly, fatherly and professional in their work. Very experienced and welcoming staff with a drive to make a difference in the education standards in kenya

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

accomodate more neeedy children in their school, see them through their education upto secondary level abd create employement to many people in kenya. this would make a big difference in the literacy levels of many communties in kenya as a whole

Ways to make it better...

I had funds to finance the organisation construct more boarding facilities to accomodate more students

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

Finances to meet their various needs like transport facilties, accomodation for the children and operational costs like paying salaries

One thing I'd also say is that...

This organisation is truly making a difference in its surrounding community and requires all the support that can be availed.

How frequently have you been involved with the organization?

About every month

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2010

Hi GIsh, I am glad that I was of help to the family that you referred to us. The two children as you know are perfoming very well academically and are very active in extra-curriculum activities. You are very right in what you said we would do with 10 million bucks. I am happy to know that you know or cause very well and represent it as if you were part of us. Cheers and We promise to do much more than we are currently able to do. We are in existence to help as many people as possible gain access to the main basics of life - food, shelther and clothing and for the child an additonal need - EDUCATION - the key to success
