My Nonprofit Reviews
Review for Harper for Kids, San Francisco, CA, USA
Harper for Kids immediately presented solutions to some of my initial implementation questions. As an organization, they made resources available, and worked quickly to schedule a presentation and guest reading of the book “Inch and Miles” by Coach Juniper from University of California, Irvine. My questions about how to make the book and posters of the Pyramid of Success available in all classrooms on our campus were immediately answered by Harper for Kids’ generous offer to provide one of each for our classrooms. This substantial contribution to our program quickly transformed our initial implementation from a pilot program with a few interested teachers, to a coordinated resource for every student at Adams Elementary School. Furthermore, Harper for Kids shared lesson outlines, character recognition awards, and presentation suggestions with us.
Harper for Kids has made the Pyramid of Success at Adams Elementary something we can all promote and share with our community. Parents, school staff, and students are all thrilled about the ability to help students develop the personal attributes to persevere through difficult academic tasks and, most importantly, to interact with other people in a respectful and professional manner. By focusing on "Hard Work", "Determination", "Cooperation", "Team Spirit", and "Confidence", students will develop the skills to succeed and achieve their personal best.
Working with Harper for Kids has been a positive and rewarding experience every step of the way. I strongly recommend their program and would be excited to see their energy, skill, and enthusiasm continue to expand in other schools state-wide.
