I was introduced to Baker Industries through a women's social club, the Newcomers & Neighbors of the Upper Main Line. We host an annual Holiday Luncheon for the Baker employees. It is one of the most uplifting and positive experiences I've ever had, and so I had to become more involved. In the last 10 years I began by running the Holiday Luncheon program, then by increasing club involvement with Baker, both through donations and volunteerism. In 2014 I started helping with their annual Gala. I've seen Baker achieve it's goals through several years and find that the positives never end. They help their employees achieve the dream of useful, productive and life changing employment, giving hope to the previously hopeless. I especially appreciate that they have built this non-profit from the ground up with no State or Federal funds.

I started volunteering at Baker Industries for a Holiday Luncheon a Women's club -Newcomers of the Upper Main Line - holds there annually. I loved the experience so much I now chair the event AND volunteer in development. Baker Industries accomplishes miracles regularly - helping the less fortunate in our society to earn a living, and start living. They 'graduate' about 60 people a year who go from being dependent on society for their sustenance to being employed, with job and life skills to help them make the most of their abilities. I'm a big fan, and wish Baker existed in all 50 states, because there is need for their services everywhere. If you're looking for a worthwhile nonprofit to donate or volunteer for, this is it!
