Review for Push International, Woodinville, WA, USA
In August 2017, I spent a week with Push International in Mazatlan as an occupational therapy student intern from Calstate Dominguez Hills, and it was an enriching, life-changing experience. I loved working with and was especially impacted by Sergio, who is the director of wheelchair distribution and uses a wheelchair himself. My fellow student interns and I served on the 41st team to come to Mazatlan to assemble, repair and distribute much-needed mobility equipment to the local community. 2017 marks the 10-year anniversary of Push International, and during this last trip, we gave away the 5206th piece of mobility equipment. This number is a testament to the incredible impact that the work of this organization has on families who otherwise would not have the means of mobility to engage with their environment and to perform essential occupations of daily life. I am honored to have been a part of the team, and I look forward to returning in 10 years to see that number reach 10,000.
