Review for Sexual Assault Center, Nashville, TN, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I was a victim of childhood sexual abuse. This experience haunted me and left me depressed, guilt-ridden, and emotionally unstable. I had attempted to recover on my own with self-help books and traditional counseling. These efforts were not effective. In desperation, I contacted the Rape & Sexual Abuse Center. At the center, I finally found what I needed. I received individual and group therapy over the next three years. This enabled me to confront my abuser and deal with the emotional baggage I had carried for years. I am proud to say that I am no longer a victim, but a healthy, happy survivor. I owe it all to the guidance & support I received at the center.

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

my own life as a survivor of chlidhood sexual abuse. They saved my marriage, my sanity, and my life.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

expand their services to reach more people in need. Their programs are a tremendous benefit to those souls that are fortunate enough to have an opportunity to receive their assistance.

What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...

the service they provided for me. I received healing therapy for the after-effects of childhood sexual abuse.

The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...

Caring and compassionate. I was made to feel comfortable and accepted no matter what ugly details I shared.

If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...

Save many more victims from a life of desperation and despair.

Ways to make it better...

I had discovered their services sooner. I could have avoided many mistakes and years of suffering.

In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...

financial support. Their programs are highly effective, but there is a much greater need than they are able to fill.

One thing I'd also say is that...

I am so very grateful for people that are dedicated to this special need. They are truly doing great work in an area that is too often overlooked.

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

Role:  Client Served & I was healed through the therapy I received at the center.
