I am a member of VFW Post 2148 in Waco, Texas. On a recent trip to Ohio for a family reunion I looked to see how close we would be to the National Home hoping that we could view the campus. We were only 82 m iles away and we decided to go on a day trip to visit the home. I am so glad we did...I have heard about the home ever since I've been a member of the VFW and we have special prayer for them at every post meeting, but I had never talked to anyone who had visited the home. The visit exceeded my best expectations. I was thinking "institutional setting", but nothing could be farther from the truth. The site is in a beautiful area near Eaton Rapids and very well maintained. The staff we met were very personable and helpful to us as we toured the facility. We were so impressed that when we returned home we both became Life Members of the Home. If you have an opportunity go and visit. If not become a donor. If you watch testimonials of people who have been helped you will realize your donations would be supporting a very worthwhile cause.
