2017 has been a great year so far for ECHS. In addition to hiring a new director, we've started three new programs this year. The TNR program (trap, neuter, return) has been a huge success already. I'm also extremely proud of our SNAP program (spay and neuter assistance program). This program assists residents of Eaton County by making spays and neuters of their pets affordable. Finally, our Have A Heart Fund is by far my favorite program. This emergency fund allows us to pull animals from other shelters that may not have had that second chance at life due to various medical reasons such as broken bones and heartworm treatment. Using this fund, we are able to help those animals by paying the high vet bills so that every animal leaving our shelter is healthy.

In addition to our new programs, we have made the commitment that every animal is spayed or neutered prior to leaving our care and is micro-chipped.

Finally, we have the best volunteers and foster parents! We couldn't operate without them and we certainly couldn't help as many animals as we do.
