As site manager and volunteer for Community Seva, I feel privileged and immensely grateful for this opportunity to be part of a cause truly close to my heart. Homelessness in the bay area has sky-rocketed and it is growing day by day. Turning away from this problem due to fear, ignorance or simply not knowing what to do to help are no longer justifiable reasons to stay away from helping. Community Seva is that organization that connects kindhearted, generous, and compassionate volunteers with the most vulnerable, and needy folks in our community.

I got into Community Seva thinking I need to do my part for the community and help the less fortunate in a small way...However, right after my first experience cooking and serving, the happiness I felt was indescribable. I just knew I had to come back and do it again, and again, and again. Thanks to Community Seva, I have got out of my comfort zone and now doing what is most rewarding to me-serving the homeless and hungry and making this a permanent part of my life. I am eternally grateful to all my volunteer friends at Community Seva who inspire me to do more!

Volunteering at Community Seva has been a life changing experience for me. What started as a simple desire to do something good for the community has transformed into something more purposeful and joyful than I could have ever imagined.
When I first started volunteering at this organization, I didn't realize what a powerful effect this experience would have on me. For one, it was not just about cooking and serving a hot meal to needy families in the shelter, but more about a shared humanity. The smiling, and appreciative look on their faces as they extend their hands to get a plate filled with hot, delicious food is something that keeps me going.

Community Seva lives up to it's name. It is the very epitome of service. The team of dedicated volunteers never fails to amaze me with their drive, passion and heartfelt desire to give selflessly. The leadership too has served to inspire and motivate people to do more. The team has come together to increase the scope of services, to get more people involved including youth and to use social media for productive purposes.

My life is richer today than it was before Community Seva came into it and for that I am eternally grateful.
