I have volunteered with AIWR for over a decade and have witnessed the positive impact the programs have on the lives of the participants. I am inspired by the dedication and courage of the students and mentees as they achieve job promotions, are accepted into advanced degree programs, and are hired by international organizations due in part to the guidance and instruction of their mentors and teachers. It’s a pleasure to be associated with this well-organized, supportive, and impactful organization that empowers women in a country where it is very challenging to be an educated, professional woman.

I have volunteered with AIWR for over a decade and have witnessed the positive impact that the programs have on the lives of the participants. I have held once-weekly, long-distance mentoring sessions with some of my mentees for five years. I am inspired by the dedication and courage of the mentees as they achieve job promotions, are accepted into advanced degree programs, and are hired by international organizations due in part to the guidance and instruction of their mentors and teachers. It’s a pleasure to be associated with this well-organized, supportive, and impactful organization that empowers women in a country where it is very challenging to be an educated, professional woman.

As an AIWR volunteer mentor and teacher for almost a decade, I am privileged to walk with courageous Afghan girls and women who are committed to empowerment despite many cultural challenges. The very essence of the program builds cross-cultural relationships that nurture an enriched understanding of issues affecting women. Working with my students is humbling, enlightening and rewarding whether they are in high school or a medical doctor returning to university for an advanced degree. The AIWR staff is consistently supportive of mentors, teachers, and students. It’s a pleasure to be associated with this program.
