I volunteer at an L.A. County shelter who's long-standing policy is to not adopt FIV positive felines, and instead euthanizes them. I intervened with a mother cat and her kitten that were scheduled to be put down. The shelter agreed to allow me to adopt them and try to find a rescue that took in FIV cats. I didn't really know much about FIV so set out to find information on the internet, along with searching for rescues. It wasn't long before I stumbled on the FIV Cat Rescue site, which not only provided me with everything I needed to know about FIV, but also provided a list of rescues in various States. I was able to find a rescue that would take mom and baby. This is a fantastic site!
